Halifax mortgage rates to go down

Halifax mortgage rates to go down
Halifax announced today that they will be reducing their tracker rates and arrangement fees from Monday 2nd June, with rates from 6.24% on their 5 year tracker to 6.34% on their term tracker.

This reduction will see some rates cut by 0.3% and some fees reduce by as much as £500

A three-year tracker with a maximum LTV of 75% was set at 6.64% with a £1,499 fee. It will now change to 6.34% with a £999 fee.

A three-year tracker with a 75% to 90% LTV set at 6.99% with a £1,499 fee will now be set at 6.75% with a £999 fee.

Jerry Figueroa-Lee, Operations Director at The Mortgage Warehouse, commented: “This move is not unexpected and brings Halifax’s rates inline with other lenders tracker rates. With increases in fixed rates this week with a number of lenders and the recent rise in swap rates, we expect to see a number of other lenders following Halifax’s move.”
