Campus promise is good news for landlords

That is according to the National Landlords Association (NLA), which said that landlords could take advantage of the new rental opportunities.
John Socha, vice president of the organisation, said that landlords who specialise in students are operating in a different market to other buy-to-let investors and will be delighted with the announcement from the government.
"For those landlords who specialise in students, this is good news," he commented.
"Any [landlord] who does it [letting to students] at any sort of volume finds that they've got a cycle, unlike everybody else in the lettings market."
"It's all-or-nothing: all the viewings are [happening] now, then after Easter it dies off as everybody goes home for summer. Then you get another flurry in September for the ones who haven't got themselves sorted - and then that's it. They all move in in September, stay for a year, and then move on," continued Mr Socha.
The 20 new higher education centres promised by the government should be in place within the next six years.
